Pipe lasers for drainage Australia
A pipe laser sits in the invert and throws a grade beam to a target at the far end of the run. Stormwater, sewer, house connection — this is how Australian drainage crews set fall before the bedding goes in. A rotating laser on the bank is a guess. Piper in the pipe is the job.
How to choose
- Most civil drainage: Piper 100. Remote, target, Li-ion. Done.
- Long runs and auto-alignment: Piper 200 with Alignmaster.
- Green beam (100G / 200G) if you are working in bright open trench.
- You still need a target. The beam is useless if nobody is looking at it.

- 100 is the daily drainage laser. 200 adds Alignmaster so it finds the target itself on longer or tighter runs. If you mainly do house connections, 100. If you do mains, 200.
- Can a rotating laser do drainage?
- It can give you a grade on the bank. It cannot sit in the invert and show the fall down the pipe. Different tools.
- What else is in a drainage kit?
