ROTATING LASERS
Rugby 610 vs 620
If you pour level house slabs, buy the 610. If you need to match a fall in one direction, buy the 620. Two-way fall is a Rugby 640 (manual dual) or 680 (dial-in dual). The laser is half the kit — get the All-in-One so the receiver, tripod and staff show up in the same carton.

D2 if you measure rooms, corridors and variations inside. D2G if the dot has to show up on steel or a bright elevation. Same pocket, same tilt sensor, same Bluetooth. Do not buy both unless two people measure at once.
PICK THE RIGHT LASER
Pipe laser vs rotating laser
Drainage, sewer, stormwater: pipe laser in the invert. Slabs, pads, earthworks: rotating laser on a tripod. A Rugby on the bank is a guess at pipe grade. A Piper on a slab is a waste of an invert tool.

What you need to install stormwater
A Piper 100, the remote, a target, and a charged Li-ion. That is the kit. Add a tripod if you are shooting over the trench rather than sitting in it. Add a locator if you do not already know what is in the ground.
LASER RECEIVERS
Which receiver works with a Rugby?
Colour first: red Rugby takes a red Rod Eye. Green takes green. Then pick the display — 120 or 140 for house slabs, 160 Digital if you want millimetres. A 360° machine receiver is a different product for the plant, not the staff.
