Which receiver works with a Rugby?

Colour first: red Rugby takes a red Rod Eye. Green takes green. Then pick the display — 120 or 140 for house slabs, 160 Digital if you want millimetres. A 360° machine receiver is a different product for the plant, not the staff.

Colour is not optional

A red Rod Eye will not see a green beam. A green receiver will not see a red Rugby. Machine receivers are the same rule — wavelength, not ‘can the operator see the dot’. If someone on site grabbed a receiver out of the other ute, check the colour before you blame the laser. TUF red millimetre receivers (DLD300R) will generally read a red Rugby.

120, 140 or 160

Rod Eye 120 is the basic catch. 140 Classic is the common site receiver. 160 Digital is what you want if you are actually setting millimetres on a pad, not just finding the plane. The All-in-One Rugby packs we sell already put a 160 in the carton. Do not buy a bare Rugby and a 120 and wonder why the finish is rough.

Machine vs staff

A Rod Eye clamps to a staff. A 360° LMR or TUF 360 bolts to the machine so the operator can see the plane. If the grader is cutting, you want the 360 on the plant and a Rod Eye on the ground for checks. They are not substitutes.

Red TUF receivers read most red rotators, including Rugby. Green is green. Confirm colour before you pay.
Do I need a new bracket?
If the staff clamp is shot, yes. A crooked receiver is a crooked slab.
