DRAINAGE

What you need to install stormwater

A Piper 100, the remote, a target, and a charged Li-ion. That is the kit. Add a tripod if you are shooting over the trench rather than sitting in it. Add a locator if you do not already know what is in the ground.

The laser

Piper 100 is the Australian daily driver for house connections and most civil stormwater. It sits in the invert and throws the grade to a target at the far pit. Step up to a Piper 200 if the runs are long or the pits are tight and you want Alignmaster to find the target for you.

What people forget

The target. The remote. A second battery. A pipe laser with a dead pack at 6:30 am is a crew leaning on shovels. The All-in-the-case Piper packs already have remote and target — use them, do not leave them in the office.

Before you dig

If you do not have a current locate, sweep with a cable-avoidance kit first. A Piper does not find the telco. A DD120-class locator does. Then the laser. Then the bedding.

FAQ

Do I need a rotating laser as well?
Not for the pipe. You need one if the same crew is also doing the pit lids and the surrounding pad.
House connection vs main?
House: Piper 100. Main or long commercial: Piper 200, and think about green if the trench is wide open in sun.
